Help Me Get Over My Bad Business Experiences
Don’t Carry Baggage
Think back to a time where you heard someone you knew that was in business for themselves. Have you ever heard them mention a negative business experience or person? Possibly, a business relationship lesson or an unpleasant situation that arose?
In your business, you have to be vigilant over your business, including your brand. This includes you and what you communicate to others, both verbally and in speech. If you experienced a poor business relationship or maybe a transaction that did not go as planned, explore the situation. How did it make you feel? What did it cause? How did you feel about it?

Stay Positive

Are You Committed to Your Own Dream?
Being Committed To Your Dream
Remembering what to do and when to do it can be challenging if you are a small business owner. However, it is necessary to become consistent in your marketing and branding efforts.
When you get in a habit of “starting and stopping” with your marketing efforts, you run the risk of several negative possibilities.
How To Be More Committed?
First and foremost, your audience may become disconnected from you “the talent” and or your product. In other words, even if they value your talent, product, or service, your negligence causes them to disconnect from you all together.
Secondly, you flush your marketing dollars and hours of hard work down the toilet when you start and stop. If you work hard to build engagement for a specified period of time, then just stop engaging abruptly, your audience, clients, or customers feel “used” They know you are just connecting for the “sale” as opposed to genuine “gratitude” for their commitment and loyalty to your brand, products and or services. They next time you launch a marketing campaign, they will be less apt to get involved.
Last, I would like to point out that in business your create a business plan to project your business desired success and profitability. In other words, you attempt to foresee possible problems, strengths, weaknesses, competition and the sorts. Likewise a marketing strategy as well as a strong marketing budget should not be overlooked in this plan. Social Media, Blogs, and Mobile Marketing are key elements to the success of any business in this day and time. “Traditional marketing” has a new meaning. “Mom and Pop” stores are global businesses now!!
Do You Have Creditability?
If you were a Realtor, you wouldn’t leave the house without a business card, you would understand that when people asked you for a card and you didn’t have it, your possible sale and creditability would be lost. Consumers expect businesses to reinvest into their businesses. This reinvestment helps to assure the potential client that you “the business” actually believe in your “own” brand.
Customer Service and Communication are almost more important that the product and or service. It really is about connecting.
What steps will you take today to become a more consistent brand?

We As People Tend To Want What We Want- When We Want It.
This can be a dangerous mindset to have in business.
In business, you may be tempted to try to make things happen for you instantly. Please note, I am not referring to ambition in this post. I am strictly speaking to areas in your business where time and consistency are the key ingredients for maturity.
Are you feeling stressed? Overwhelmed? Defeated?
Identify the root cause of the “rush emotions” in your business. Ask yourself a few questions.
- Am I doing too much right now, in my business? (too many irons in the fire?)
- Have I set realistic goals for my business?
- Do I have a written plan, that I can refer to, to chart my progress?
- Is there something I am doing right now, that can be delegating to another more capable team member?
- Have I taken the time to educate myself on the source(s) of my anxieties.
- Do I have a”Covet Spirit” in my business (this is where you want what your competitors have, “copycat syndrome”)

How Do I Get In The Right Circles?
Getting In The Right Circles
Get on the same page with your team for ultimate success and productivity. There is a saying that attempts to explain that one bad apple will ruin the entire batch. I have seen many times in my career working on different projects for various marketing campaigns where one negative individual contaminated the entire project.

Are You Negative?
Negative people breed new negative people. Likewise in business, when are receiving directions from too many entities m you will feel like you are going in a million directions yet making NO progress.
It’s really important to build a solid team from the start. Trust, loyalty, and Integrity should be among the checklist for screening for possible business partners. Notice I did not mention skill, talent or qualifications first. You can have the most talented people in your organization but if they don’t mean you any good you will pay for it in the long run. Some businesses are never able to recover from bad business connections.
Bad connections will cause you to risk ruining your reputation and may increase your chances of permanently damaging your brand. As a business owner, I have to carefully pick who I allow to get close to me in personal and professional settings.

How Do I Build a Support System?
Learn To Encourage Your Self
Your first fan club should be in-house. Let me explain, you can’t expect outside resources to celebrate what you lack motivation for. In other words, it is imperative that you learn to encourage yourself!!
[soundcloud url=”http://api.soundcloud.com/tracks/99956483″ params=”auto_play=true” width=”100%” height=”166″ iframe=”true” /]
You’re Not Crazy
I love “self talk” actually it justifies me talking to myself and my family doesn’t think I am all the way crazy! The amount of belief you have in your business, project, or products is highly contagious. When you reflect a positive, successful outlook about your business people are naturally drawn to you.
You Need A Great Team
Second, secure a great team of folks in your workplace and family life that are committed to seeing you accomplish your dream. Be really selective here. Not all blood relatives mean you the best. You should employ common and not so common sense to sift and sort through family and friends who really have your best interest at heart. If you are the CEO, or team leader in your business don’t use your team to vent. It only pollutes the atmosphere of your business. If you stay positive, uplifting, and inspiring you will force others to do the same. Any other action would be out of place and unacceptable.
Last, learn how to motivate others the way you would like to be motivated. Teach people how to make you feel but imposing the same feeling in them.
I have always felt that before you can a preach a sermon effectively, you must first experience the success of your convictions/teachings.

How can I Protect my Brands Online?
What Matters Most?
I believe outward appearances have more to do with your overall personification than the clothes that you wear. I suggest hiring a professional social media company to assist with your online marketing needs.
Hire a Professional Social Media Company to Develop your Online Brand
Noteworthy to Note:
Be Consistent
Consistency is Key. When the talent becomes busy, it may become difficult to stay connected to your clients, prospects, fans, and or friends.
Don’t Tell Everyone Your Business
Despite popular belief you should not say everything you feel. Many conversations may prove to be more damaging than uplifting. For example, controversial topics about religion and or politics could cause you to lose fans.
Don’t Beg, Ask for the Sale
Begging for attention all day, everyday is a MAJOR Turn OFF! Never beg fans/friends or clients to buy your stuff all day, every day. If you stay true to your marketing message and produce a quality product and or service buyers will see the value. Remember people do business with people they know, like, and trust.
Your Outward Appearance Matters
How you carry yourself offline will have a major impact on your outward appearance online. Be sure to discuss activities and events you are involved in with your social media manager. No matter how much you want to, refrain from using your online platforms to sound off or rant. Keep it positive, inspiring, and engaging. Your outward appearance or better stated your online brand should be professionally managed to ensure communications with your fans, friends, clients, and or prospects is maximized for its intended purpose.
