2 Truths The Church Won’t Preach On Fathers Day

The church and the world has a way of making excuses for the hard realities families face within the church. Instead of dealing with “what is” we try to get people to see “what could be.” Many church leaders describe this behavior as faith. Unfortunately this method of reasoning does more harm than good. God doesn’t need our help to soften the blows of the unfavorable situations we find ourselves in. This Fathers Day, I’ve elected not to pass down unbiblical theology to my readers. Instead I give to you two truths you probably won’t hear this Fathers Day at any church.

1. Your mother is not your father. It is physically, emotionally, & spiritually impossible and equally confusing for any child to properly understand.

Where shall I start? There’s just so much fundamentally wrong with this idea that I don’t know where to begin. Many times growing up, strangers pitched in to help my mother and my father. People would provide for us in areas where my parents failed to be able to meet our basic needs. For example, they would pick up large bags of clothes from other people’s home and go wash them in a laundry mat. They would then divide the clothes among my siblings and I. I’ve never thought of the people that gave us their clothes as my parents. I can say they made it their business to see to it that we never went without this or that…. Mainly neccesties though.

We have a habit of trying to overcompensate in areas where the absence of one thing may not be the presence of something else. Being single doesn’t mean your lonely. Being married doesn’t mean your happy. One parent homes aren’t cursed, neither are two parent homes blessed solely because they have two in home parents. An absent parent isn’t always the result of divorce or broken relationship. A single parent doesn’t equal half a parent. The most important lesson we can teach our children is to love and respect their parents.

2. State Ordered Child Support Should Not Be Initiated By Believers.

Child Support is state mandated money deducted from one parents account deposited into the other parent’s account. The money is specified but often not agreed upon through the courts. The child is then paid for like a debt on terms that could only be established by an uninterested party. This money, however once deposited into the custodial parent’s account does not have to be used exclusively toward the named child in the court order. This support serves as a form of income or paycheck for the parent of the child in need of support.

Father's Day sermons The only issue I have with this one is the term, it’s extremely misleading. The term support is defined as giving assistance to, bearing the weight of and or giving financial assistance so that one could function or act. Child support is just regulated money sent into an unregulated home. It is time out for the church to remain silent on this unbiblical way to resolved divorce issues within the church. Why are so many dads labeled as deadbeats?

If any of you has a dispute with another, do you dare to take it before the ungodly for judgment instead of before the Lord’s people? How dare you file a lawsuit and ask a secular court to decide the matter instead of taking it to other believers?

Dear God, I refuse to become weary in well doing as I approach your throne of grace today, I ask that you forgive me of all unrighteousness. I thank you for being a God of innumerable chances. As your word declares and I agree, grant your people supernatural favor today. Give us favor that no man can withstand.

Prayer of Release

I pray specifically for those who read and share this prayer with others. God’s about to #release His Favor into your Life! When this next storm passes you will testify NOBODY DID THIS, BUT GOD! I pray to a God who sits high, yet looks low. May angels come into battle on your behalf today. I pray for the release of warring angels to fight on your behalf and that #prosperity angels will gather #wealth for your barnyards. I declare that Angels of Peace are enforcing ORDER in all climatic areas of your life.

I pray, every reader/prayer warrior be granted VIP access into secret place of the most High #God May your #prayers overcome huddles and may answers to your requests be released quick and immediately. The wait is over. It will not take you as long as it takes everyone else. May the Matchless Favor of God be upon you today.

We put our foot on the devil’s neck and crush every form of distraction, doubt, #rejection #fear and #failure. No demon will come near your house. There is no weapon, no magic charm, no hater, no man, no woman, no friend or foe, no sickness, no circumstance, no bill, no problem and no witchcraft, no hurt that is manufactured against you, that will prosper. It IS NOT going to WORK! The plots and Plans will Fail because Access to you and yours has been Denied!!!

May your fears be replaced with the Favor of God and your Faith increased enough to finish your race. Be strong in our Lord and Savior as you overcome every obstacle in Jesus’ name!

I declare, you will not die, but live to proclaim the MIGHTY works of OUR GOD!

Your life will be a testimony for the world to witness and see the Glory of the Lord. Declare The RELEASE of YOUR VICTORY by declaring GOD’S FAVOR IS RELEASED TO ME TODAY;

You will always encounter a few “Haters”
I think by now, most of you know that everyone will not be happy with all of the decisions you make in life. To be a successful business owner you can not carry your emotions on your shoulders. Being overly sensitive can cause you to lose sight of profitable opportunities. It will also give your haters exactly what they want.

I’m No EXPERT but…

I’m not really a “Hater” specialist. In fact, I actually hate the term because it is loosely used to define people and does not specify a set group of consistent actions. Read more about dealing with haters here.

I am not sure if there is any one “great answer” to dealing with opposition or negative feedback in your business. Although we all aim to be people pleasers in an effort to gain more business, we must remember that all businesses do not market to everybody. Every business model has a target market.

Remember negativity slows progression.
Negativity hurts. Push pass the emotional distress and persevere.

I hate using the race card, like I hate it when people chalk the power of God up to coincidences, but these senseless murders of our young men publicized in the media recently is not a fluke. There are just more ways/platforms/tools available to the average joe to bring awareness to injustices around the world. My question is not: “Is this really happening? …but more like, “What will you do when it happens to you- when the next victim is in your family- will it be your son or your daughter on the news next?

Our food is raised on farms, we never see in conditions we would never live in but we eat the food in fine restaurants so that makes it ok. WAKE UP! He Will Keep You In Perfect Peace

You will keep him in perfect peace, Whose mind is stayed on You, Because he trusts in You.
Isaiah 26:3 God I thank you for everything that has knocked me off my game lately, I may not understand just how it will make me better, but I refuse to become bitter because of it. I no longer think it strange when trials and tribulations come upon me, because I am a child of the King, which makes prayer my secret weapon.

So this morning, I’m praying for all the hell cats and hell hounds, disturbing the peace in your children’s lives. May their annoying little barks be silenced and or muffled. May we sleep in peace, now that the enemy of our life has been silenced. May your mercy and your grace follow us today and everyday. The grace to forgive misunderstandings, and then turn around and bless those that despitefully misuse us.

Yes, God I know that I am praying for something that I can not do on my own, but your strength is made perfect in my weakness, so I shall fear no evil, not even from those barking in high positions.

Lastly, God I pray for those who feel afflicted but might actually be the antagonist in this prayer.
Give us the mirror of repentance and reflection and the courage to confess and clean up our offensive acts against your people.

Don’t let us bring shame to your name by declaring your power but using it against your own people. We are one. Let us be full of love and mercy, seeking peace and wisdom in every situation. God I know that you can, and I believe that you will, grant me the petitions of my heart.

Fakes Are Cheap, Be the Authentic You @askportia

Are you true to your authentic self in your ministry? It is so easy to get lost in all of the trends, viral videos, social platforms, technology and preaching styles that are evolving. This was an old podcast and I am speaking extremely slooooow! Which is extremely rare and kind of scary to be honest. JUST SAY NO TO SINUS MEDS! I thought about deleting this podcast because after listening to it again, I found absolutely no value in my words. I thought, why in the world did I just waste my own time listening to myself say absolutely NOTHING!

Who cares that I was yanked across three states as a child which severely impacted my ability to pronounce words like everyone else, or the fact the I have an extremely insane sense of humor that usually gets me in a ton of trouble? Who seriously podcasts about these things and expects to be taken seriously?

Umm, Portia Chandler!

It’s just who I am, I don’t remember the day I recorded it, and or what prompted me to do it, but I thought it was important then enough to record and today although my podcasts have evolved, it’s still relevant to play to my authentic self as opposed to an airbrush brand. I’m human. I laugh, cry, become angry, do bad things, do good things, I eat, and occasionally find time to sleep, I read and write like 75% of my life. I am an extreme introvert and I am probably afraid of almost everything except the devil. (Read that sentence like seven times, and you have met me.)

I hate cats, because I just do. They’ve never did a thing to me but then again I’ve never hung around long enough to see if they felt the same way I did. I always list cats first because everything else all feels the same way… Lizards, Silverfish, rats….

I had a dog once, a chihuahua that my husband purchased for my birthday. I was terrified of this animal’s random fast sprints around the house. I fed him, bathe him, took him on trips with me, and decided that you could love something that you were absolutely terrified of. He was simply the cutest little thing I had ever been afraid of. I kept him until I thought he was going to die on me. Where do they do that at? My lawn guy always took long breaks on my street to play with him, and one day after thinking about how my children might respond should they come home to find our now 94 year old dog no longer in the land of the living, I gave the animal that I loved away.

What’s the point? Authentic

I talk to 100 people a day, and log more than 80 hours of talk time with clients, associates, family and friends and one thing is consistent, I always hear how weird I am, how crazy my voice sounds, people mimic my hand motions, and my insanely weird facial expressions. I wear shades indoors because I have a sensitivity to light, it never goes unmentioned. I adore big beautiful hair and I have an obsession with God & technology that opens doors for me impossible for man to close. I don’t always like being ripped apart because I dont fit in but I have learned that the anxiety I experience when trying to be someone that I’m not, isn’t worth it either.

I am enough, and so are you.

God doesn’t perfect the person to fulfill His promise. His promise is perfected through the people He chooses to use for His Purpose. I’m not sure how cheap fakes really are, but the real you is priceless.

Successful Church Leaders Do This 1 Thing Right

Ministry Leaders who cultivate an environment of gratitude will always develop higher functioning ministry teams. Appreciation goes a long way when attempting to build your church membership utilizing the volunteerism strategy. I’ve never had an issue donating my time and or my services to my home church free of charge mainly because I felt appreciated, valued, and needed. When you can be thankful for the people who show up to assist you despite their efficiency in a particular area you will teach others acceptance not competition is what matters.

Many ministry leaders encourage members to find their fit and get involved in ministry but often “pick and choose” who they will actually use for certain tasks. While there are many reasons in which I agree with the selective method process among church volunteers, there are proven negative consequences that follow when personal selection is the only method.

Thankful leaders, pastors, volunteers, church members, visitors, children, and church teams rule the world! An attitude of gratitude will purchase more for your church and its mission than any church budget could ever hope to afford. When church leaders appreciate their staff and volunteers you will find that they work harder, do greater, and constantly go beyond the call of duty because they have a sense of belonging a reason to show. Their work has purpose and is appreciated.

Don’t Fret Being The Underdog

We all have moments in our life, where even on our best day we’re still not quite good enough. Sometimes we’re just too dog on busy. Your busyness is robbing you of your strength. You have the talent, you have the ambition- you’ve eradicated fear and have dedicated yourself to accomplishing what lies before you. Now you must learn to rejoice in your season of stillness. Stop jumping from place to place trying to make it work- truth is: God has already sent your answer but your constant need to prove your worth is going to have you in the wrong place at the wrong time. Don’t fret being the underdog your season is coming. Rejoice!

The Marriage Between Fear & Lizards

There’s a huge difference between facing and addressing your fears.

I’ll be the first to admit that I am not a huge fan of facing things that make me afraid but I have learned the art of addressing them. I’ve seen people go to great lengths to face the people they were afraid of, and or to settle situations that were terrifying to them. I’ve witnessed people even hold animals that literally gave them panic attacks all in the name them, get on planes, boats and or rollercoasters they were terrified of all in the name of facing their fears.

If you haven’t guessed it yet, I hate lizards! It’s personal, its real, and I am not willing to face my extremely violent dislike for these creatures for anyone, even myself.
I H-A-T-E lizards.

In this podcast series I share how to look at fear a little differently in your business and or organization. Many people will tell you to face your fears as if that is a one size fits all solution to moving forward, but I do not agree.

As leaders, sometimes it’s even hard to confess your fears let alone acknowledge them in a public forum that may cause others to perceive you as being weak. To grow as a leader we must learn to address items that have high potential to derail our growth. Fear can be paralyzing when left unchecked. Facing your fears isn’t necessary when you take the proper steps to insure those fears don’t limit your progression or stop your production.

Eliminate the threat fear offers to your decisions moving forward, choose only to focus on what you are able to do to keep things going in your business without allowing distractions to derail your purpose.
